Our Newfoundland Dog
Memphis is a Landseer Newfoundland, born February 27, 2009. Memphis came from HunterHill Kennel near Mount Forest Ontario. She lives in the Toronto neighbourhood known as Longbranch with Mister Anchovy, Tuffy P and cats Jerry, Delia, Rossi, Spud, Shadow and Jacques.

The markings of the Collie are identical to my own (Penny). Although Penny is bigger - she also runs till she drops.

I just have to smile when I see the look of joy on a dog's face when they are running through the woods. How were the ticks?
I have been roaming the woods in Southern Ontario for about 50 years and I have never seen a tick. Folks tell me I am just lucky but I don't think they are an issue in Ontario except for a few small pockets of tickdom... the trout
Nurse: Salvelinas Fontinalis is the latin name for the Brook Trout. Mom named him after a trout and me after the lowly anchovy. How sad is that?
tshsmom, there are no ticks in these woods. We've heard about ticks near where we live but haven't seen any yet. We've also heard about ticks in Prince Edward County, which is east along the shore of Lake Ontario a couple hours by car. I know there are wood ticks on the western part of the UP in Michigan and further west, so maybe there are some in the west part of Northern Ontario.
